ABOUT ART PARTY 2010:  Art Party is a collaboration between artists Nikangel and Victoria Archer. Meeting every couple of years worldwide, this time in London UK, they will share with the public several photo pieces, multi media arts and amazing music in support of a great cause.

The venue chosen for this event is Cable Club located within the arches underneath London Bridge. These arches have a long and illustrious history, and have been used as dance halls since the war. From the early days of Acid House to the present day, the venues under London Bridge have been a bastion of the underground scene. Three rooms comprising two arenas, three bars and a gallery, give the club a capacity of a thousand people. Yet the whole venue has a feeling of intimacy. The rawness and beauty of the space has in no way been compromised by the design. It is truly a celebration of London's industrial heritage.

The sound system is superb. The latest offering from Nova, sees their new allign technology's first installation worldwide. It has to be heard. Cable Club delivers the up and coming talent of tomorrow, and plays host to some of the worlds most established and legendary talent.

About our Charity: War Child International

War Child was founded in 1993 by British filmmakers Bill Leeson and David Wilson, when they returned from filming the war in former Yugoslavia. Shocked by what they had seen, they raised enough money later that year with a convoy and mobile bakery to help provide for the children affected by the conflict. The War Child family soon grew as War Child Holland was formed in 1994 and War Child Canada started in 1998 - all under the umbrella of War Child International.

A portion of the arts sales at the event will be donated to this organization.

The event will also feature live music by cheeky London based band Cooties Attack! in a most anticipated return to the stage after some time off. Cooties Attack are a bedroom disco punk band formed when Holly and Huw had nothing better to do other than write songs about superheroes, crushes, Harry Potter, and zombies. Holly helped Huw with his library school homework, or rather she made the cups of tea and pretended to understand cataloguing. Huw impressed her with his knowledge of more than one guitar chord. She gave up her Supercasio way of life and they wrote a song and ate jaffa cakes and everything was ok in the world.

"We sing songs about superheroes, crushes, fragile egos, indiepop girls, Harry Potter, discos, queer scenes, and other such nonsense in a disco punk style, we're Amazing!!!" ~ Cooties Attack!

DJ Girls Go Bang! will spin indie electro-pop and retro indie tunes.

ABOUT NIKANGEL: Nikangel, is an American pop surrealist. Her showcases include the Fredrick Snitzer Gallery in ‘98, the Coconut Grove Art Fair in ‘03, Borders Gallery in ‘07, The White Room in ‘08, Art Basel Week for Eco Artland & The Wallflower Gallery in '09. Currently exploring 3-D manipulation of ready-made humanoid forms, her pieces transform into elaborate installations that become interactive environments. Nikangel continues to expand her experiences in the multi-media arts. She brings to London, by way of photography, her hometown of Miami, Florida. Although she was born in Colombia, Miami is the city Nikangel keeps coming back to.

ABOUT VICTORIA ARCHER: Always a keen artist, Victoria took up photography initially in response to a friend’s request to see some native Cumbrian fog. A few quick snaps soon grew into a more careful consideration of space and detail. Despite being born and brought up in Cumbria, she found that the photo lens allowed her to see the countryside in a new way and she fell in love with the depth of the nature around her. Since then, she has had photos published in ‘Digital Art Photography for Dummies’, several travel guides, and a tourist information booklet for Hadrian’s Wall Country.

Victoria also enjoys taking photographs of architecture and works of art, especially in European cities, but it is nature which most inspires her.

Of her nature photography, Victoria says: “I'm lucky enough to live five minutes away from a nature reserve. What goes on out there is fascinating - whether it be the shapes the trees are making, the snails hugging the underside of plants, or the way the cows are looking at me. Mini mushrooms and dried berries on the path, or a spider hanging from a branch, or the way the sun hits the cobwebs on the berries. These details are my favourite things to capture because they're something I wouldn't have seen otherwise.

I also live a short distance from a gorgeous tarn, and I work in the heart of the Lake District surrounded by fells and water. There's a stone circle not too far away, overlooked by mountains and sheep. Hadrian's Wall is just about on my doorstep. I can't imagine anyone being so close to all this and not wanting to capture a little piece of it somehow. These have always been my favourite places, and they're a part of what drew me back here after I moved away, so it's not too surprising that they constantly inspire me.”
